I caught a performance of the Imagined Village from the Cambridge Folk Festival on BBC Three, they’re a collection of eclectic musicians passionate about the roots of English folk music. Martin Carthy had an interesting perspective on their team dynamics “wild cards not loose cannons” and “no ego’s insight”. If you watch their performances you get a sense they’re really enjoying themselves and letting individuals do what they are best at.
